Our Roots

Jory’s electrical career began straight out of high school near his hometown of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He spent the next few years following in the footsteps of his father.  With a love for snowboarding, the mountains, and everything outdoors, Jory and his wife Taylor moved cross country to Colorado’s Vail Valley. Soon after, he earned his journeyman license and started running commercial projects of all sizes including a newly constructed senior care facility, a local fire station, a luxury hotel remodel, and a high-end country club just to name a few.

In 2022, Jory and Taylor felt the call to find somewhere to start their family. After a 6-month road trip around the west, they discovered Sandpoint and fell in love with the access to the outdoors and strong sense of community. Taking what he’s learned from his commercial experience, Jory worked with local electrical contractors in Sandpoint to establish successful planning and processes for residential construction while integrating his attention to detail into high end projects.

With 20 years of experience in the trade, a masters license, and a breadth of experience in the electrical industry, Jory set his sights on building a business that prides itself on craftsmanship and reliability. With that, Grounded Electric Co. was born.
